Apply · 2027

Six seats. How to get one.

Four crew trucks are already in. We're picking six more for the week in the Mojave, Mar 20 to 27, 2027. Tell us about the truck, the things you've broken, and why this trip. It is not a vote, and we don't take everyone who qualifies.

How it goes
  1. 01Applications open for a fixed window each year.
  2. 02We read every one. A walkaround video decides close calls.
  3. 03Twenty finalists are announced on Instagram and to the list on Feb 1, 2027.
  4. 04Finalists get a phone call.
  5. 05Six rigs are picked to join the four crew trucks. Two weeks to confirm and sign the waiver and release.
  6. 06Applications don't roll over. Not picked? Apply again next year with what changed.
What gets picked

Tell us why you built it

  • 01
The story beats the parts list

Homebuilt beats bought. A high-mileage truck you built in your driveway has a better shot than a showroom build. Tell us why you built it the way you did.

  • 02
    Show it as it is

Dirt, dents, the tool bag. The walkaround video decides close calls, so open the hood and show us the spares.

  • 03
    Tell us what broke

Three trail failures and how you got home tell us more than any mod list. We're picking people who can fix things.

  • 04
    Be good company

A week is a long time in a ten-truck convoy. Tell us who's riding with you and what they're like at camp.

What we're looking for changes a little every year, and we pick for variety across the ten. Not picked? It might just be that we already had your truck. Apply again.

If you're picked

About six weeks to get ready

  1. February
    The call

We phone every finalist. Bring your co-driver to the call if you can.

  2. Two weeks later
    Confirm

Say yes, sign the waiver and likeness release, and the seat is yours.

  3. Feb – Mar
    Parts and profile

Partner parts ship to you to install before the trip. Your rig profile goes up on the site.

  4. Early March
    The start point

You get the start, the first camp and the trip channel. The rest of the route stays with the crew.

  5. Sat · Mar 20
    Drive it there

No trailers, no chase trucks. Rig check, CV Lassos, first camp.

What we're selecting for
  • The truck and how it's built
  • Your experience fixing things in the field
  • Whether you're good company for a week
  • Variety across the ten
The walkaround video

Five minutes, phone is fine. Walk us around the rig, open the hood, show us the tool bag. Unlisted YouTube or a Drive link. Strongly encouraged, and it decides close calls.

Applications land with the two of us only. If you're not picked we keep your email for one year as the list, then delete it.
